This is a story of a great loss that starts the boy on a path of a revenge after his immediate family is executed.

Guided by his uncle and later by a mysterious assassin Gordon MacMaster boy [and later man] Terry Kingston slowly infiltrates the Australian underground scene and finds his way to the crime-lords that ordered his parents killed. During that time Terry realizes that organized crime is organism on its own and elimination of any part - be it lower ranking thugs, organizers or even heads of organization - just ends up with others taking the emptied seats so to speak and [from the practical point of view] nothing changes.

Author tells a revenge story by a determined man who paces his actions, bides his time and waits for over a decade before striking the decisive blow. Story is very similar to the [a:Frederick Forsyth|36714|Frederick Forsyth|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1224097067p2/36714.jpg]'s [b:The Cobra|7774883|The Cobra|Frederick Forsyth|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348589597s/7774883.jpg|10679529] in regard to the main protaginst's goals and the way how crime syndicate dismantling is planned and executed - as a long run operation as opposed to hit-and-run.

Although spanning years story is very fast-paced with lots of action and detective-like investigations.

Highly recommended to all thriller fans. Cannot wait to read other books in the series. ( )
