Awbari burns. A failed state at war with itself. A failed revolution, and a desperate scramble for power. Two puppet governments, proxies of a totalitarian state and an energy hedge fund, trade countless human lives for resources measured in billions of dollars. State-sponsored mercenaries and Islamist terrorists fight an endless civil war to stalemate. A stalemate swollen with refugees, suffering and mass graves. To sever the ratlines of jihad into the country, a special-purpose force of private military contractors is formed to destroy the terrorist safe havens in neighboring Qasra. Veterans of the Syrian and Iraq wars, they kill zealots and the Chinese mercenaries who control them in relentless strikes. Inside the nascent Awbari dictatorship, intrigue. Generals, oligarchs and tribal leaders squabble over wealth and power--before civil war threatens to destroy both. Step into the event horizon of absolute chaos. Black Powder Red Earth® [ Awbari ] is a new start to the renowned Black Powder Red Earth series. An unflinching depiction of a failed state at war, the series is written/directed by Jon Chang(creator) and with new collaborator, Paul Tibrius - subject matter expert with over 20 deployments in support of the GWOT. Josh Taylor returns as artist, creating the most detailed and expressive art in the series to date. Bringing the military thriller to the next level, Black Powder Red Earth is the definitive story of near future conflicts and "grey wars". Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

And strikes are also getting more sophisticated - we see use of loitering munitions and other advanced gadgetry.
And rise of opposition that just might be a match for Cold Harbor (I wonder how this will develop in future volumes).
Art is excellent, much more clearer and consistent (although Yemen and Syria story-lines where on the same track, only first volumes were daaaark, so dark I had problems figuring out what is happening). Top job.
For fans of action adventure in Mad Max like countries, you will enjoy it. ( )
