Each page of the story (except for the last few pages) has a letter that was written to a character from another character and a brightly colored picture to go along with it. The letters written between the character give a glimpse into their daily lives. Such creative writing. This could be used from K up through junior high. I know a few kinders that would be scared of Wolf and Fer O'Cious and their plans so use with caution with the littles. I loved this book! This author takes various fairytales and ties them all together. This specific book is about Little Red Hen planting a crop of corn and searching for the help of friends. In the form of letters, the language was very descriptive and humorous for a young child. In addition, the characters are very well developed in brief context. I love the way the author makes all the protagonists of fairytales friends and the antagonists allies. The moral of this story is to always share and be welcoming of others. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

This was a perfect introduction to use for the first-grade letter-writing project. We stopped to examine the format of the letters within the book. We also practiced inferencing skills as the story did not unfold in a typical manner.
The students enjoyed the story, which was very humorous, and the illustrations were beautiful. ( )
