This book uses the classic nursery rhyme of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" as a starting point for the book about the relationship between people and their pets and animals in general. The lamb tries to follow Mary to school one day, but is removed from the classroom by the teacher and laughed at by the children. Persistent, the lamb waits outside Mary's school all day for her. The end of the book shows the other children and the animals they love as well. The central issue here is friendship and respect. This book would be appropriate in Pre-k - 2nd grade classrooms, especially with lessons that correspond to the natural environment or community. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Pros: Children will enjoy reciting this familiar nursery rhyme and looking at how it is illustrated. For some, it will introduce more verses than what they're used to.
