Threads were tied off neatly but not too much so. I really don't like it if everything goes perfectly for the protagonist, it's nice to have a few openings that could come back to bit in the future. It's also really nice to have antagonists who aren't bloody idiots and actually acknowledge that they may not win so they put plans in place to their revenge anyway. And then there's that random bit of change that no-one could plan for that really has the potential to throws things into chaos. The world building is incredibly imaginative and insanely detailed. The characters are entertaining and vivid and the plot is breathtaking in its scope. Overall this series was an absolute pleasure to consume and is well deserved of its place as a prized gem of the progression fantasy genre. 5 stars. ( )
