What is your trigger? Does work, or home, stress make you reach for the junk food? You may feel better, at that moment, after consuming all that sugar. Ultimately, does it help, or does it make you feel worse? When a stressful moment happens, there are things that can be done (short and long-term) to reduce the stress level. Take a slow and deep breath. Go for a walk outside, muttering and cursing while you walk. Consider meditation or journaling. Talk to somebody, a friend or a mental health professional.
Do you, figuratively, lose your mind when exposed, for example, to chocolate? Get all chocolate out of your house, and keep it out, for several weeks. Then re-introduce it, a little bit at a time. Diets generally do not work. You will probably regain the weight that you lost. Any diet that forbids chocolate, for example, makes you crave it that much more. Do you set personal goals for yourself? If not, as your first goal, resolve to eat "healthier" with an eventual goal of eating "healthy."
This is a very good, and easy to understand, book. Some will consider it to be common knowledge, but there will be those for whom this is a revelation. It is very much worth checking out. ( )
