I’ve received a mobi.file download copy of this book for having subscribe to this author’s newsletter and the following is my honest opinion.

Anyone who has read my reviews knows I love it when a book triggers a song memory from my days when I was still youthful.

And “Playing His Game” by Kit Kyndall happens to be one of these books.
Maya can’t afford to lose her fiancé, Bobby, and nothing will stop her from doing everything she can to keep him hers. But at the same time you’ve got Roarke who desires to make Maya his and nothing in the world will stop him in this quest.

This eventually causes her to be like the woman in the 1977 song, “Torn Between Two Lovers” by Mary McGregor; to become torn between her fiancé Bobby and Roake, and like the chorus suggests:.

Torn between two lovers, feeling like a fool
Loving both of you is breaking all the rules

Roake’s obsession with Maya causes him to do something some might consider to be unethical as he blackmails her into a game of seduction. There he does everything he can so she can see the truth regarding Bobby. Soon afterward she wonders what’s going to happen in the end since everyone involved is playing for keeps.

To Roake, what’s happening reminds me of Wayne Fontaine and the mindbenders and their 1965 song “The Game of Love” which I feel describes his feelings quite accurately:

The purpose of a man is to love a woman,
And the purpose of a woman is to love a man,
So come on baby let's start today, come on baby let's play
The game of love, love, la la la la la love.

“Playing His Game” contains a wide gamut of emotions which creates a page turning story for its readers so they can see what happens next, and for doing this, I’m giving Ms. Kyndall 5 STARS. ( )
