2.5 Stars
I’ve read three of this author’s Yaoi books these past couple of weeks and they are all different in terms of storyline. This is the cutest and sweetest. There’s lots of ust and no non-con. Sugary sweet, it’s adorable and I loved that about this story. But, the grammar errors did my head in! This book is overflowing with pov strangeness, like one moment we’re in Andre’s head listening to him tell us his thoughts, then suddenly we’re yanked out as he tells us that his gold eyes are blazing with lust. His eyes were an entity unto themselves. There was terrible tense usage, and the overuse of descriptors like, ‘the blond boy, the pretty boy,’ etc. Of the three books I’ve read, so far this is the worse in terms of grammar errors. If it wasn’t for the cute storyline, I’m not sure I could’ve finished this.
Andre told us his feelings so the readers got a good idea of how he felt about Taylor. Taylor and Andre make a good pair and the last chapter/epilogue was perfect.
I’m debating on how to rate Kidnapping the Queen. I want to give 2 Stars because of the poor writing and the overabundance of grammar errors, but 3 Stars for the cuteness and storyline. In the end, I’ll give it 3 Stars because I really enjoyed the plot. Be warned however, the writing needs an editor to fix the large number of problems.
