The art reminds me of Pixar concept art, but with even more life to it. The story has a soothing, bouncy rhythm that matches the plot very nicely. ( ) “There is no such thing as an empty space or an empty time. There is always something to see, something to hear. In fact, try as we may to make a silence, we cannot.” - composer John Cage. Song in the City focuses on the fact that there is a song all around us. It is a very touching book about a young blind girl sharing her lived experience with her grandmother. The illustrations pop and really highlight the sensory experience. I agree with this statement: "Song in the City bridges the gap between generations of music and family, while centering love, understanding, and joy." aucune critique | ajouter une critique

A young blind girl, filled with the sounds of her beloved city, shares a song with her grandmother that changes the two forever. After helping Grandma realize that the city makes music as beautiful as the sounds they hear in church on Sunday morning, the two sit down and take in all the sounds of the city...together.
