SEEK AND FIND is the third of the serial stories published in OUR BOYS AND GIRLS, where it appeared as the sequel of BREAKING AWAY. The author had no more reason to complain of its reception than of that accorded to its predecessors; and he returns his sincere thanks to all those young friends who have written hundreds of letters to him, containing the most generous commendation, with an occasional criticism, which was by no means unwelcome. Other things happen, but during it all, Earnest learns that he's been being swindled by his Uncle Amos, or more correctly by Uncle Amos' son, Tom Thornton. He learns that his mother has been "incarcerated" in an insane asylum in Britain, and also that Tom Thornton has been spending the money that Earnest's father had left behind to support Earnest.
Well, lots of adventure and skulduggery and it all comes out in the end. A sort of fun book, a bit, in a way, like a 60-years earlier version of the Hardy Boys
