"The mutants of Arakko spent millennia scarred by war--but on the world once called Mars, they're learning to live in peace. Storm knows that the red planet needs something greater than a queen to keep the peace--but while she has a broken Magneto in her corner, Roberto DaCosta is making his own moves. And Abigail Brand of S.W.O.R.D. has other plans to influence Arakko, with an unstable Vulcan on her side and Cable keeping his own secrets. And what of Tarn the Uncaring? He waged war and torture on Arakko for centuries, and he now sits on the planet's ruling council. Two different schemers have plans to remedy that...but only one can win. It's a new world full of intrigue--and someone has to fight for it!"-- Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

All that said, this is deeply steeped in Krakoan era continuity. Even fixing a last minute throwaway line Hickman wrote that broke some of his intended continuity (that he's mentioned in interviews). I don't think this book works without having read S.W.O.R.D. by Ewing to which it is a direct sequel and continuation. It probably works without reading the entire Krakoan era, though HoX/PoX, Trial of Magneto, and Inferno would definitely lend a lot of missing context to your enjoyment here.
It's hard to separate the context from my enjoyment of these X-books these days. Because the dripping, oozing continuity all over them all is what I LOVE about these worlds and stories and is a big part of what I love about this book and its world and story. ( )
