The last quarter of the book felt rushed with some ridiculous resolutions. Really enjoyed reading about an influencer's work and how it affects their life -- or is it the life affecting the work? This was an okay read but it didn't thrill me and doubt that I'll remember much about it. Kimberly Belle delivers again in her latest fast-paced popcorn domestic suspense thriller. Told from three POVS…Alex, the mom social media influencer whom has the trolls after her for a post she didn’t make…Anna Claire (AC), the crazy maid whom possibly got herself involved with the wrong man, that is also Alex’s personal assistant gone missing and Patrick, Alex’s guilt ridden husband, who is hiding something about how he knows AC. The ending was rushed but overall it is a binge worthy read with unreliable narrators that will have you guessing until the end. Thank you Libro.fm and Harlequin Audio for the gifted ALC for my honest opinion. The picture-perfect world of a social influencer collides with a young woman's lust for revenge in this riveting novel. I loved the upscale Atlanta setting and its stark contrast with the humble origins and gripping backstory of AC, the seemingly loyal assistant to domestic queen Alex, the instagram sensation. Couldn't put this one down until the very end, when all the intriguing pieces fell into place! I thoroughly enjoy Belle's writing style but I was interested in her comment that she had trouble writing this book during the pandemic and somehow...maybe that's what I felt with the interaction of Alex to Patrick...over time and especially at the ending. How....could Alex have (spoiler alert) any positive feelings left for him? And Alex's blog....it did NOT give me any good feelings about the power of these so-called "influencers" in social media---before all of her trouble as well as her new beginning in the end. There was also the confusion the reader is placed in with the "two" AC characters----the jump back and forth in time is a mystery that only appears later in the story. The story moves right along and you want to see what-happens-next....but it was all a little disappointing. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
