The Emperor is the book that features a couple that was teased in the first two books. This one has such beautiful pining in it. There is something about the heroine pining after the hero that just works for me so well. And I really enjoyed the secret relationship dynamic that comes into play with this one here. I think I loved the first book a bit more than one, but only slightly. I did enjoy the heroine of this book way more though. I just love a softer heroine in a mafia romance. This also had a mix of unique tropes that really came out together in such a intense intriguing way. This is also a story that reading the first two books, will add more dimension to the characters. I was so grateful I had read these books in order and closer together. And I am so excited for the next book in the series. Its going to be purely fascinating that is for sure. (
