How I loved this series and was so happy when finding out that there was going to be a companion book to the three that make up the main series... and that it was going to be Gabe's (Angel) and Bowie's story. I knew after No Ghosts, book #3, that Jodi was too kind and would never leave us wondering about Bowie and Gabe. I felt so sorry for Bowie in the beginning. An accident had occurred to this long-time soldier and his troop that sent him disconnected from the life he had known for years, and he suddenly finds himself dragging his injured leg and his broken spirit to New York where his remaining brother and his partner live. He remembers that it was also where Gaberial (Angel), also works and lives. He knew that there as something between him and Gabe that couldn't be denied the last time that he was home. You have to love Gabe! The man deserves the name because he is truly an angel, the ultimate loving helper to everyone. Bowie feels broken, and not just in body but also in spirit. The one thing that has been his entire life is gone and he is adrift in a way he has little to no understanding about. Bowie calls Angel his Bear and has quiet and complete trust in his man. Gabriel is good and caring, although he sometimes gets overwhelmed with the feelings, he and Bowie have come to share. Did it all happen too quickly? As I said, I loved the first three books, and I loved this story just as much. Bowie and Gabe's road to happiness isn't always smooth, but they put a great deal of effort into making things work. Sam, Bowies remaining brother, and his partner Thomas are supportive, encouraging and ever so sweet. They are showing Bowie what true "family" means. While this one was less stressful than the other 3 books, since there was no murderer running around... it was just as good from the very first page. This one can be treated as a standalone, but you will get so much more from the characters and the events by first reading the three books before it. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
