Lily Atwood seemingly has the perfect life. Or does she? She is an award-winning TV reporter in Boston. A single mom with a young daughter. Her publisher, Greer, is seemingly content to be out of the spotlight. Lily's life does indeed seem perfect....until the bouquet of flowers show up at her house with a card signed "From Cassie". Cassie is Lily's sister who disappeared when she was 18 and Lily was 7. Or did she disappear?

This is a fast-paced book that kept me guessing until the end. The characters are interesting and intriguing and the story sucks you right in. ( )

I stuck with this, skimming as fast as I could, just to find out why everyone seemed to be making so many bad decisions. The answer kind of makes sense within the world of the book. I had trouble connecting with any of the three point of view characters and the writing had them mentally churning over every decision and ultimately making the worst choice. ( )

A famous award-winning TV journalist, Lily Atwood, seemingly has a perfect life. However, the story is more about false perceptions, self-blame, and the dangers of being in the public eye than the rewards of fame. The book's first half is frustratingly slow while the author flips back and forth between past and present while revealing the plot inch by inch but finally picks up in the second half. I found the story a little far-fetched but believable. Lily has a past she's worked hard to cover up. Her sister, Cassie is so indecisive and filled with self-doubt; she's her own worst enemy—but what eighteen-year-old possesses the ability to make intelligent decisions? And Greer. She's so self-serving and jealous she'll do anything to one-up her boss, including going behind her back at every opportunity. So many things about these characters will rub you the wrong way. That said, this suspenseful thriller is well written, with a surprise twist at the end that makes it worth the time invested. ( )

How do you live a PERFECT life, keep your family safe, maintain friendships and hold down a glamorous job? That's what Lily is trying to do without allowing her secret past bump into her daily VERY PUBLIC LIFE. Her TV producer does everything in her power to keep up Lily's perfect appearance. That is until she begins to see what Lily has kept hidden, which were it to become public knowledge, would destroy not only Lily's career but hers as well. This book kept me on my toes and the mysteries kept building! I did not see the ending coming! A fun and engaging read.

Thank you Macmillan and NetGalley for this book. Lily is a famous tv personality. She has a producer, Greer, and a 7 yo daughter named Rowen. When Lily was seven, her 18 yo sister left because she did a bad thing. The story goes back and forth between what Cassie did and Lily’s life now. It’s a quick read and seems quite plausible. This is also a fast read, and if you have to put it down, you can pick right up again. ( )
