I liked that the author took the moment to remind her audience that beauty comes in a plethora of ways and is always different for the eye of the beholder. I loved the message but this was not my favorite from this author. I struggled to connect, especially with the grandma, and how Grace came to be how she was. The accident changes her entire plans and career chose so she becomes “invisible”. West has his own issues and stressors as well. He is attractive and attracts a lot of attention. But with all the attention he receives, he does not open up to anyone. He does his best to make extra income to provide for his family which leads to Grace and West’s introduction. They now work together at a taco truck. They both struggle with their insecurities which leads to a few arguments. But once their friendship blossoms and they begin opening up more, their feeling for each other grow. I don’t feel like I’m exaggerating when I say it’s one of the best friends-to-lovers romance I’ve read. The connection I felt with the characters was amazing. They feel genuine and unforgettable. Leaving that aside I have read some NA books that drew me in and made me care about the characters which this one didn't. And I also have really enjoyed some of this author's other books so I'm just going to say this one just wasn't for me. (
