The daughter was running away from an escaped convict, who was out to get her. Her father owns NASCAR teams, and the team Pit Chief, Wade, takes It on as his obligation to keep her safe. ( ) I read "Almost Famous" (which tells Jake Hinson's story) before I read this book, and I just don't think that "Hearts Under Caution" is as good. The dynamics are different; the two characters in this book were engaged once, so the reader is walking into a relationship that was established long ago. I just didn't see much of a spark between Wade and Lisa. That said, I enjoyed this book on a different level. So many romance books rely on flowery language that just isn't realistic. This one didn't. Wade is a guy who has difficulty expressing his feelings, and it was a big deal when he started losing his cool and saying that he cared about Lisa. So, if you're looking for something that's different from the romance novels packed full of purple prose, I'd recommend this one. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

One minute Lisa Woodrow is a big city prosecutor, and the next she's back home, deep in the fumes of North Carolina racing culture and trying to keep a low profile. She has no choice. A criminal she helped convict is on the prowl for her, and Wade McClellan, ex-fianc#65533; and best-NASCAR-crew-chief-in-the-business, insists his security is tight and she'll be safer with him. There's no way Lisa will ever go back to being a "sideline cheerleader," but this caring, committed Wade hardly seems to be the same man she left behind. Suddenly, staying beneath the radar in North Carolina doesn't seem to be such a bad idea.... Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
