An m/m omegaverse novel with found family, chosen mates and mpreg.

The Lone Pack series follows on from the author's Lost Pack series. There is some character crossover but is sufficiently standalone for it not to matter.

Hawk is on a break from the military while he goes through his inheritance from his beloved grandpa and gets the house ready to sell. His plans are derailed though when he finds two brothers hiding out and starts to hope for something more than a solitary military life.

This was alright. There's nothing unique or distinct about the characters or the plot, it's your typical run of the mill hurt comfort omegaverse romance story. I didn't really like either character but it was an easy enough read. Hawk was a mess and his constant self-recriminations got old fast. Plus there was a bit too much miscommunication and doubt about Jesse possibly lying about being with someone else. He'd given Hawk no reason to think he was untrustworthy and it irritated me on his behalf. As far as the mpreg plot - five babies? Really? A bit too fanfiction for my tastes.

The crossover with the Lost Pack series characters dragged on but would be ideal for fans of those books. As far as the world building, it was pretty thin and the military elements weren't really explained well but it worked well enough otherwise. 2.5 stars, rounded to 2 stars. ( )

A pack?

Jesse and Damon are both just so hurt. Then Hawk was so broken. He and Jesse are perfect together, it just took Hawk so long to figure it out. ( )
