I like the repeated phrase "That's that." Foreshadowing delight. Granddad consults his library - well done! Together, Granddad and grandson make breakfast (pancakes!), lunch, and afternoon tea. The illustrations contain so much feeling as the grandson places his two hands on his Granddad's arm to get his attention, or leans his elbow on Grandad's knee as they watch the birds. A delightfully real and fantastical tale. ( )
