If you are already aware of paleo/functional approaches this book is not going to add much for you. Greater than 50% of the book is all about coaches/coaching/testimonials, etc. This is because Dr. Drummond (honestly, I googled DCN and could not find out what she is a doctor of) makes a business out of training practitioners to coach clients with pelvic health issues. I only put it in quotations because it starts to feel like a multi-level marketing scheme. I have seen a number of people in the online endo community go into "business" for themselves coaching other patients. I'm not impressed from what I read in the book. I did not come away with anything practical, but rather a whole list of practitioners I should engage. I already have a pelvic PT, an endo surgeon, a primary care, a functional MD, and an acupuncturist/herbalist. Giving me a greater list of people to engage and then devoting more than half of the book to the practitioner (v. the patient) was frustrating. I strongly believe this book is just a funnel for her businesses. Granted, many books are a funnel to people's businesses, but you need to give your reader something concrete. I have purchased and had printed many self-published books, so I have nothing against self-published authors. Would I benefit from a coach? Possibly. But, I don't have the time or privilege to take any more unpaid sick time. I gave this 2 stars, because what I highlighted as I read were the validating bits. I love when practitioners validate patients, of course! What a great, goodhearted person! However, I came away with nothing new or practical other than the idea I need a coach or that I am the leader of my care team. I wish she would have spent more time empowering the patient and less trying to sell/create/hire coaches. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
