This book is written in alternating points of view between Beth and Danielle. Beth is a wife, a mother and a therapist. Danielle is a wife who is looking to have a baby but comes to Beth for marriage counseling. Beth lost the love of her life, Nick and has since built a life with Richard. Richard has admitted to having an affair and left. Now Beth is trying to rebuild as a single mother. Danielle has had an "accident" and several month later her husband, Peter asked for a separation. They are now back together.
There were parts of the story in the middle that I thought was a little redundant, not big parts of the story, but certain lines kept being repeated. But it didn't make me want to put the book down. I felt like I could read the story and thought I knew what the connection was, I was 1/2 right and pleasantly surprised.
