A young woman traveling west with her family feels drawn to anothers emotions and plea for help and is swept forward in time to the present. There she is saved by the heroine, a man in self imposed exile and living with a massive amount of guilt over the death of his wife. He is moody and childish and has pretty sever mood swings. Even the heroine noted that he could go from raging to calm in a few seconds and act like nothing happened. She is determined to save him and she uses her visions of the future to do just that. She is really niave and totally innocent. She's also completely ignorant of how the modern world works but she's eager to learn and discover everything around her. Her ethusiasum and bright cheerful attitude serves to bring the hero of of his funk at least for periods of time. Because of his mysterious guest, he dicovers his busniess is going down the tubes and just how laxed he's been in the running of his busniness. So there's the plot of the corporate corruption and also the heroine's plot to find her sisters journels to discover what happened to her family after she left. Overall i found this book to extremely flat and lifeless. It had no spark. It was all monotone. I can't say the book was bad, persay but it was so routine and predictible that I honestly just wanted it to end. The hero disturbed me. On top of his mood swings he was an idiot. He absolutely denied the idea that his new lady has traveled through time but at the same token, he admits that she's otherwordly. She cries herself to sleep wishing he would just believe her story but even when he finally relents to believing her, he still is a bit of an asshole to her. Overall, this wasn't even your run of the mill time travel romance, in fact the genre is typically much better than this. ( )
