Kirkman and Samnee take on Iron Fist and...make it kinda boring.

Honestly, every single step of this story was expected and basically a paint-by-numbers Iron Fist without Iron Fist. Yes, the protagonist is now Asian, but he was raised with American parents with an American name. His mentor in this far off land deep in snow-covered mountains (that has a secret paradise that's not called K'un-Lun) is seemingly fascinated with all things modern (shoes, iPods—because this takes place 15 years ago—Radiohead, etc). So, he's removed the White Saviour, but basically all things White are put on a pedestal.

But guys, don't be fooled. This is Iron Fist.

But Iron Fist is better. ( )

A straight-up riff on Marvel's Iron Fist, this is a fast and entertaining read as Kirkman and Samnee slap a cheesy martial arts movie onto the pages. It has all the authenticity and some of the problems of Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, but its over before you can dwell on it too long or deeply. ( )
