I know nothing about black hair. I wish I knew more, and books like this help with that education. Not only is our little girl looking for her missing bonnet, she tells the reader what each member of the family does to their hair and why they do it before bed. It is simply wonderful. It shows a different culture than I grew up with, and helps insure all kids can see themselves in the books they are read. Every night at bedtime her family puts on their bedtime bonnet to go to sleep. She cannot find her bonnet. Follow along as the young girl asks her family about her bonnet and ode to black hair. I would recommend this for any collection. It is a great addition to showing different lifestyles and cultures for young readers. This book was about african american cultural. It was about a family of african americans who have to do lots of things to their hair to get ready for bed. Everyone is finished with their hair and the little girl needs her bonnet to go to sleep. She cant find it so she looked everywhere except grandpas head. She finally found it and goes to sleep. She wakes and she takes her hair down and now the day starts. This book was really cute. The illustrations were really on point and put a vivid image in the readers minds to illustrate what the words were telling. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
