Kevyn Llewellyn, a struggling artist, must have the exactly right model for her next project, or she's going to be fired. When she sees him--none other than Rusty Rivers, NFL player fighting injuries to save his career--she does the absolutely logical thing: she kidnaps him. Or rescues him... it depends on whom you're asking. Rusty Rivers is the kind of guy who's squandered every opportunity, while Kevyn's had to fight for every success. They're as different as meteor and moonbeam, with nothing apparent in common, and yet... in this doomed, enchanted football season, dare they hope that anything magical can happen that they can believe in forever?… (plus d'informations)

Overall, this was a cute, quick read, but the MC's dyslexia and the bullying of the love interest kind of made the story serious. I wish the author would have gone with one tone or the other. The "meet cute" aspect was far-fetched and then the rest of the story was realistic; again, I wish the author would pick one and stick with it. ( )

I enjoyed this book by Patricia Burroughs. I found it very well written and not overly sex filled but a lovely romance story. I learned quite a bit about Dyslexia and truly felt for Kevyn as my son had dyslexia. I would reccommend this book for a good read. Thank for the opportunity to read and review from Library Thing and the author.

Loved the story got into it from the start. Loved that Rusty loved
Kevyn for what she was and didnt judge her for her disability. And that Kevyn overcame her fears of loving someone and the fear of her disability. ( )

First, a few housekeeping matters: I acknowledge it took an incredibly long time to get started on this book (I don't own an e-reader, thought it would read okay on my NetBook, but my NB was having issues!); the cover "put me off" a bit (too much skin?); and though I read the Early Reviewers blurb, it didn't mention this was a revised and updated story from 1990, and all I could wonder was "how revised? how updated?"

With those statements in mind, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this story pulled me in. Very unique opening chapter; surprising disclosures about H/H half-way through; followed-up by a satisfying ending. Since I don't want to give away too much detail, I'll only say that the main concern here involves something I have experienced through my children. While we dealt with "it" openly, I remember meeting a 50ish man who suffered to the same degree of the H/H. His self-esteem was shockingly low, especially considering the happy life he leads. I wish this revised story was issued in paper format (I'm showing my age), but am still glad I had the opportunity to read the book. Ms. Burroughs did an admirable job in its plot and cadence. ( )

No exciting plot but a lot of conversations that make one smile. A woman artist and a professional athlete fell in love. Both of them were bullied in their youth: The paintress who was and is suffering dyslexia. And the football player who was supposed to be a ballet dancer. Together they manage it to forget their gnawing memories - and to embrace the wonderful feeling to be at home. My assessment: Enchanting! ( )

”I love a good, steamy romance that has a great story to go with it. Add in some drama, realistic emotional issues or personal trauma, and I’m usually a very happy reader… Some Enchanted Season is a great romance with a few tastefully done sex scenes. Some amazing drama and personal struggles and likeable characters.”

"As I read the last page of this book, I was very moved by the message within. Overcome. Never give up. Don't let others stand in your way. It was something I've been needing to be reminded of."

I wasn't overly impressed by this novel. I liked it well enough but it's not one that I will read over and over. I wouldn't say I loved it, but I wouldn't say I hated it either. The plot just wasn't up to my standards.

The heroine's solution to her problem was absolutely NOT realistic at all. I think that it was way too far fetched.
