A typical Jerry Apps book. I don't mean that in a bad way, he covers the history of the CCC, details where their camps were in WI and what they did there, describes the living & working conditions, and notes some memorable projects the CCC did in WI. He also includes notes from men who were working in the camps, and quotes from people who worked with those men. There's a section at the back that describes some of the successes and criticisms of the program. But it's all so short. Just when you start getting into a topic, he ends the chapter. I would have preferred a more in-depth look, but this is a fine start. ( )
