The Story:

A lot of things in this book should have worked for me. Best friend's sister, small town, second chance (ish) but in the 28% of the book I read neither of the main characters managed to snare my interest and if I don’t love the characters I’m not investing my time. That’s just the way it is. Fortunately I do like this writer and I have a lot more books of hers to explore. #CantWinEmAll

It happens to the best of us. No more hiding behind snarky comments, over-inflated egos and childhood fantasy. Eventually we have to grow up. McCarthy reminds us that life has a tendency to get in the way, but it also pushes us through the heartache. Stripped Down is brash humor with a ton of heart and a dash of wisdom. The mean girl finally gets a long overdue reality check. Sloane is used to putting her best foot forward, but this time she has to do the work. It takes a less than stellar homecoming and a blast from her not so distant past to show her the error of her ways. Sloane, Rick and their slew of busybody friends are an irresistible bundle of heartwarming fun. ( )
