Founded in 1958 at the height of the Cold War, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament voiced a growing popular concern about the dangers of nuclear weapons. Since then CND has become a byword for protest and radicalism, shaping three generations and inspiring mass movements for peace across the globe. Timed to coincide with CND’s 60th anniversary, this book draws on archive material and interviews with activists from across the decades and situates CND’s current work in the context of the Trump presidency.
