Let’s just say that I have yet to meet a history book on ancient Egypt that I dislike. It’s what originally got me into history and on the history career path. Chris Naunton does a fantastic job of relating the stories of these people and their tombs and how they have been lost — and found in some cases — over time. This was a very interesting read, and I found myself breezing through this book, despite spending most of the holiday season with family.
This book is a recent release (November 27, if I’m remembering correctly), and once I had it, I was super excited to read this. It definitely DID NOT disappoint me. Naunton brings up a lot of good points and discussion topics that I’d like to look into more once I have a bit more time to focus on that.
I definitely recommend this for anyone’s TBR list.
Second Review So upon reading this book for a second time, as with any reread, I was a noticing things I hadn’t caught during my initial read of the book. I still thoroughly enjoyed the read, and Naunton poses an interesting point at the end of the book: the question of whether or not these tombs - along with others - will ever be found ( )
