A bit like LOTR in that an object has been cursed as Ellie must take it back to where it was made to destroy it and lift the curse. In this case, the object is an accordion ( called a button-box) which when played cause firstly good things to happen and then terrible things. Ellie learns before she sets out on her quest to save her grandmother from the curse that he life has been one huge lie and that she was an orphan given to the family after being found on a hillside with a large Nanny goat. The goat is still alive and follows Ellie on her quest to the Gleam Country as if she returns the button-box and destroys it, a terrible drought that has befallen the land will be lifted as well as her family surviving an illness. On the way she must survive with gypsies, learn who to trust and not trust and also discover who she really is, if not Ellie from Spit Farm. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
On his deathbed, Ellie's pop reveals a secret - a magical button-box. It's a musical instrument from the Gleam country - a land far from Spit Farm and the mountains, with talking goats, sweet grass and corn that grows so high you have to fell it with an axe. But the button-box's magic is sinister. When Ellie plays it, flowers bloom and crops spring up overnight, but soon the farm is cursed by drought and her beloved oma is gravely ill. To save her oma and discover the truth about her own identity, Ellie must embark on a dangerous journey to the Gleam country - the only place where the evil button-box can be destroyed.
