Here the heroine is the not so nice one who needs to wise up which she does well enough. Hero is laconic type which is something I enjoy. ( ) Spencer has loved Daffodil since high school. Daff liked his attention, but didn't treat him the best because of peer pressure. Flash forward and they are both in their 30s and their siblings are getting married to each other. As Best Man and Maid of Honor they are going to have to work together on the wedding preparations. Daff has distanced herself from her mean girl friends from high school and Spencer still carries a torch for her. Are they finally at a place in their lives where they could be the best for each other? I really like how Natasha Anders writes. Spencer was truly a swoony hero in my opinion. I loved him! I liked how Daff was able to figure out how her past had affected her present and ultimately her future if she wasn't willing to get real about it. This book picked up right where The Wingman left off and I liked how we are given a lot of Mason and Daisy from the previous book because I loved that story too. We learn a lot more about Spencer and Mason's upbringing and it explains their strong bond. We are given a teaser for the next book in the series. I'm not sure how I feel about the character of Sam (Mason's friend), but I do plan to read it. If I had to say one thing I don't like about this series it would be the name Daffodil - really? Daisy and Dahlia maybe, but Daffodil? Whenever they shorten her name to Daff or heaven forbid Daffy (which the character rightfully hates) I just keep picturing Daffy Duck. LOL. I still love these books though and Natasha Anders has become a new favorite author. I'm looking forward to checking out all her titles. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

It has all the makings of a picture-perfect wedding. There's just one detail that could have used a little more planning... Hulking ex-rugby player Spencer Carlisle has crushed on Daffodil McGregor since high school. On the field he knew the moves. Off, he was a clueless clod who never gained an advantage. Rejected and rebuffed, his infatuation finally cooled--like ice. Now, it's impossible not to feel the chill--since he's the best man and she's the maid of honor at their siblings' wedding. For the sake of harmony, they're calling a truce. Daff has her reasons for being a cynic when it comes to romance. And twice as many for not letting on that she finds Spencer attractive--although she'd rather gnaw off her thumb than admit it. Still, there's more to the sweet and sexy lug than meets the eye. Maybe he is the one who can heal her emotional scars. Maybe he'll give her a second chance. Because Spencer could be Daff's own best man--if it's not too late to come to terms with the past.
