Emily Gibson is age 26, attractive, and working in London. Her love life up to now has been a disaster, making her reckless and unpredictable. In spite of being good at her job, she gets fired. Scott Gillons is four years older, a hot and handsome plastic surgeon who has developed a secret microchip tracker to implant into humans. Even though women adore him, he finds serious relationships don t work until he meets Emily. Tensions mount as Emily's life takes an unexpected turn, and she makes a discovery which threatens her safety. Truths emerge as Scott has to face up to his own issues. There are confessions he needs to make to Emily if their friendship is to become true love, confessions which will leave him vulnerable and, if made public, would damage his career as a surgeon. As the facts come out, Emily and Scott become entangled in each other in a search for commitment and a future together. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

DNF'd at 30% - Start of Chapter 14
**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**
Unfortunately, this book just wasn't for me.
I did like the darker premise a lot. It's what drew me to this novel. I don't read a lot of romantic suspense novels and it has become apparent to me this year that I definitely should. But it just took a little too long for that element to come into play. I feel like everything would have come to light in the next chapter or two but it just wasn't grabbing my attention.
I'm not sure if it was the third person narration or the writing itself, but I struggled at times to understand what was happening. I was having a hard time visualizing what I was reading and that dampened my reading experience. I think part of it is just my inexperience reading third person POV suspense novels as well.
This is definitely a slow burn type of romance. At 30% I could count the number of interactions that Emily and Scott had had by that point on one hand. Not entirely what I wanted when I picked up a romance novel.
If you enjoy novels that take their time to build and want a romantic suspense that isn't so "sex" focused (rather taking its time to establish the characters), this is a great one for you to read!
