Chase: The last thing I'd ever want to do is let my team down. After overcoming my bad-boy reputation, I was dominating on the ice. But things aren't going so well this season, and even my parents think I'm partying again. Now I'm really worried about my career. The only bright spot in my life is the Twitter flirtation I've struck up with pop princess Jordyn Banks. Turns out she's a huge hockey fan-and she's willing to wager a date on her favorite team . . .Jordyn: Even though I'm an L.A. fan now, I've always had a soft spot for the Aces, since I grew up in Chicago. Then I lose a bet to Chase Hartman, and suddenly I'm up close and personal with a pro athlete who's anything but soft. Not only is Chase the hottest guy I've ever met, he's secretly super sweet. As if I had time for a relationship . . . yeah, right. But when I suddenly have nothing but time on my hands, he's the only one who understands. Now, with both of our careers at stake, Chase is tempting me to put my heart on the line too. Contains mature themes.… (plus d'informations)

Playing Hurt (Aces Hockey, #6) by Kelly Jamieson
Inspiration can come from the most unlikely of places. He has something to prove. She has the faith in him he lacks in himself. He's the hockey player who has lost his way. She's the pop star that helps him find his way back. Chase and Jordyn are used to life in the spotlight. However, they are about to find out it's the quiet moments that really matter when it comes to love. Jamieson carves out a larger than life tale that is really quite simple. Playing Hurt makes heart the star of the show. ( )

Kelly Jamieson scores with PLAYING HURT the sixth book in the Aces Hockey series. Left winger Chase Hartman and pop star Jordyn Banks strike up a friendship on Twitter. After losing a bet on a hockey game, Jordyn agrees to go on a date with Chase. The two have different medical issues that threaten their careers, thus relating to one another. This contemporary sports romance in suitable for adult audiences. The story primarily takes place in Chicago.

I really enjoyed this story. I love how Chase and Jordyn meet. They have a lot in common and help each other cope with their similar situations. They are a fun couple. I appreciated that they were both so down to earth and that they can act like themselves around one another. I was impressed by Chases date choices.

They both had potentially career-ending medical conditions to deal with. It was interesting reading how they handled their situations. They have several obstacles to overcome throughout the story, like Jordyn living in L.A. and Chase in Chicago. Not to mention crazy work schedules. They both grow throughout the novel.

Kelly Jamieson does a wonderful job with this novel. It is an excellent addition to the Aces Hockey series. Her writing is skillfully executed, and her plot is fun and heartfelt. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. ( )

Nice fun, flirty, sexy romantic story. A pop star, Jordyn Banks, & a hockey star, Chase Hartman, start a romance over Twitter. It starts out with some shared tweets & grew after a date won on a wager. Both had some issues to overcome & the relationship takes some hits. Can they find a way to stay together?

I really enjoyed the way these characters were portrayed. They both were common, down to earth people regardless of their fame. The fame did cause its own problems as they attempted to develop & maintain a relationship in the glare of gossips & fans. Chase had issues from his youth that caused difficulties in the relationship. The chemistry between them is hot & intense. The interactions between Chase & his team mates shows how the team has become his family. This was a great addition to the series but can easily be read as a stand alone. ( )

What an amazing story of facing your fears, falling in love, and coming back from the brink of self destruction. Kelly Jamieson writes awesome hockey romance books, and this was just another addition to the read again pile. It proves that the love and caring of one special person is enough to get you through the worst times of your life. When you least expect it, love walks up behind you and sucker punches you in the face!!

The Aces series is one of my favorite hockey series. I cannot wait for the next book! ( )

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author. (netgalley) I love hockey, love so I enjoy reading about it. I have been following the Ace players from the very beginning, and it is not smooth sailing for them. This story is Chase's and the difficulty he had trying to play even though he was hurt, hence the name. His love interest is Jordyn a singer and she had a little hard time also when she lost her voice for a bit. Their relationship was cute but they had some obstacles to overcome, one was long distance but they made it work. I felt sorry for Chase, his parents were not very nice people it seemed all they cared about was hockey not him..Anyhoo it was a sweet story along with strife. ( )
