I’m going to be critical because I can and because why not try to make things the best they can be? There seemed to be a lot of American women included in this books and it would have been nice to see more women from countries who are less prominent or well known. While American women are as badass as he rest, this book should use the opportunity to shine a light on more women whose stories are less well known. My only other wish is that the stories glossed a little too much over some of the hardships the women faced. Even young children deserve to know the full setbacks some of these women faced and to be given to opportunity to be righteously angry about it. But otherwise another fantastic instalment. I loved the first book in this series, and so did my daughter. I feel that this second volume - while featuring fascinating women - doesn't have the same quality of writing. Also - for a book targeted at a younger audience - it uses quite sophisticated language. The brief bios also sometimes really skim the surface of what's compelling about the featured woman. It feels as though this 2nd volume was rushed or 'phoned in' to meet a deadline, vs. the care taken with the first one. NOTE - the ART in both of these books is wonderful. Synopsis: There are no stories where Princesses are rescued by Prince's here! This is a collection of 200 females who have succeeded on their own terms, perfect for a good night story to young children. Some are household names; others have very much gone under the radar in the history books. Each female is presented with an illustration and their country and date of birth (and death, if applicable). My Opinion: Although a children's book, I very much enjoyed it as an adult. Some of the lessor-known heroines I googled to get a bit more information on. A quick and enjoyable read. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

While still inspiring rebel girls of the world to dream bigger, aim higher, and fight harder, this sequel is bigger than each of us, bigger than our individual hopes, and certainly bigger than our fears.
