This book is filthy. Really. And it turns out I am okay with that. Maybe more than okay? Go ahead and judge me -- I am judging myself. The storyline (and I use that term loosely) is absurd. Hot girl saving her brother from the mob by manipulating the out-of-wedlock son of a Staten Island mob boss. In the process she has lots of orgasms during dirty dirty sex. Maybe absurd was not a strong enough adjective? I generally liked Theresa. Will is ridiculous, even by romance standards, but it worked. And there is an adorable dog. Nice end of the year smut. ( )

Great sex as always, but the romance is way too fast for me to have believed it. Insta-love for sure. ( )

5 one of the best books of 2017 stars

Holy hell I knew from a certain blurb that was posted in a book group that this book was going to be good. I had NO idea it would be one of the best that I have read this year. Talk about ending 2017 with a bang.

Time to restructure my top book boyfriends because it looks like there is a new boyfriend in town and his name is Will. That man is sex on a stick. His mouth and internal monologue is is one of the dirtiest I have ever encountered in a book. EVER.

“I’ll know when you need that, baby. I’ll know when to look you in the eye and fuck you slow, until we’re both dripping in sweat and you’re moaning for God.”

Or my favorite, "...hook a finger in her panties, twist and rip them off her body, tossing them over my shoulder, giving me such a sweet view of pink I might go back to church on Sundays just to praise God for making it."

And I am a puddle of goo.

Yet, he balances it in the same breath with sweet and endearing.

"He lifts me off the ground and kisses me like we’re at the bottom of the ocean and he’s passing on all the air left in his body so I can survive."

He was dominant but not in a typical Alpha way. Will's character truly balances with one foot on the precipice of hotter than Satan's mistress and the other making him as saintly as Gabriel. Hell, at this point he could be Lucifer himself and I would gladly bow down and worship him. Naked. Clothed. Or even both. It is no wonder that Theresa became so worked up after being around him and didn't stand a chance next to him.

"...game and doesn’t only back it up, but overshoots the mark. I’m literally walking funny through the entrance and he wasn’t even inside me. I’m going to need a medevac when that happens. Wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That is not going to happen. I am not doing thrust squats in his cucumber patch."

Even though Will makes her lose all of her inhibitions, in the long run the risk pays off.

"In two seconds flat, I go from pretty horny to a bridesmaid who caught the bouquet, then took three shots of tequila and fell down a Tumblr rabbit hole."


Theresa. Sweet hell. This is a heroine I could support all the way. She was sexy. She was loyal. She was confused. And she was vacillating between doing what was wrong even when she wanted to do the right thing. Amazing how in the end the Universe found a way to make that happy.

Add in secrets, a great dog, true self discovery about oneself and what is important and you've got a hit. I also cannot forget the steam. Mmmm. My iPad is still warm to the touch.

The writing style of this book was phenomenal. There were so many parts I highlighted because I loved how they were described. Not just the sexy moments (usually Will's dirty mouth) but the similes that were so unusual. This author is definitely on my watch list for new books now. This book will definitely be read over and over. I'd love to hear about what happens with Theresa's brother Nicky. ( )
