Business. Nonfiction. Economics. HTML:The author of the New York Times Bestseller THE $100 STARTUP shows how to launch a profitable side hustle in just 27 days.

For some people, the thought of quitting their day job to pursue the entrepreneurial life is exhilarating. For many others, it's terrifying. After all, a stable job that delivers a regular paycheck is a blessing. And not everyone has the means or the desire to take on the risks and responsibilities of working for themselves.
But what if we could quickly and easily create an additional stream of income without giving up the security of a full-time job? Enter the side hustle.
Chris Gullibeau is no stranger to this world, having launched more than a dozen side hustles over his career. Here, he offers a step-by-step guide that takes you from idea to income in just 27 days.
Designed for the busy and impatient, this detailed roadmap will show you how to select, launch, refine, and make money from your side hustle in under a month. You'll learn how to:
  • Brainstorm, borrow, and steal to build an arsenal of great side hustle ideas (day 3)
  • Apply "Tinder for Side Hustle" logic to pick the best idea at any time (day 6)
  • Learn, gather, or create everything you need to launch; then set up a real life way to get paid (days 13-14)
  • Start raking in the money by channeling your inner Girl Scout (day 18)
  • Master the art of deals, discounts, and special offers (day 21)
  • Raise your game: improve, expand, or make more money off your hustle (days 24-26)
A side hustle is more than just another stream of income, it's also the new job security. When you receive paychecks from different sources, it allows you to take more chances in your "regular" career. More income means more options. More options equals freedom. You don't need entrepreneurial experience to launch a profitable side hustle. You don't have to have an MBA, or know how to code, or be an expert marketer. You don't need employees or investors. With Chris as a guide, anyone can make more money, pursue a passion, and enjoy greater security ?? without quitting their day job.

Started it trying to do it day by day but found it frustrating to choose what to focus on and put it aside. Coming back to it a year later with an idea but feeling a little overwhelmed, I read it straight through in one day and have found it much more motivating. I will now go back and go day by day now that I have read the inspiring stories and know where things are pointing to. As a step by step guide, it is really good and easy to follow. ( )

The author wrote this book and then followed up with another bestseller, 100 Side Hustles. The latter was my introduction to him and the side hustle, and I'm now working backwards to better understand the full process.

The whole thing can be summed up in two parts—(1) coming up with an idea, and then (2) executing it. Side Hustle covers both stages in the most straightforward way possible. Honestly, this method removes much of the fear. The whole point of a side hustle is to start small and quickly, and then build from there. Starting a full-fledged business can be daunting. The side hustle approach is a way to do it without being overwhelmed at the outset.

Maybe you've got an idea you've been sitting on for a while and would like to see it take off. This book is perfect for you. I didn't have a workable idea when I started but luckily the author spends several chapters teaching you how to think about generating one idea after another. It's the way to go if you're starting from scratch, by not obsessing too much over one idea. The trick is to repeatedly come up with a lot of ideas and then keep evaluating them for viability until one, or a few, emerge as clear winners. ( )

I read about Side Hustle from a finance blog that I regularly read and thought this is a book that I WANT to read. I’d love to have a side hustle to make extra cash. Who wouldn’t? Anyway, after reading the book, I found it isn’t really easy to do it in 27 days. You’d really have to hustle, try and come up with an idea (although he does suggest stealing other ideas. And first, it would have to be something I am passionate about to put all that time and energy into such idea.

Don’t get me wrong, I think that he has some great ideas and if one wants to be an entrepreneur, it could help. And if one doesn’t know where to begin, this book would be helpful in getting that ball rolling. And isn’t that what we all need, to get a push and get the proverbial ball rolling?

Overall, it is good for the beginner, although it doesn’t add anything new if you have been through this before or read other books on the subject. ( )

The author shows readers how to move from developing an idea to producing income in five weeks. The day-by-day week-by-week guide talks about setting goals and finding a way to use skills you possess to create a new business where you are the boss. Keys elements is it must be something you already know how to do, that somebody else with pay for your to do it for them, it cost little to produce, and that you can sell the same skill to more than one customer. Guillebeau presents some common sense ideas, but it is not enough to encourage this reader to quit her day job.

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Although encouraged, I was under no obligation to write a review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. ( )
