The poems go back in time generationally mentioning mothers and grandmothers, fathers, and grandfathers. Some of the included poems are bittersweet, talking about aging and loss, but most are inspiring readers to love and be loved for their true self. This is an inspiring read for anyone and would make a great read aloud for younger children. ( ) This is a beautiful poem book full of rich poems about love and acceptance. These poems were written for black, African American children to remind them that they play an important role in the world and that they have people that love them. However, any child of any race can fall in love with these sweet poems about love. These are simple poems that can be read to toddlers and can be read by first and second graders. This book could be used as an introduction to poetry read aloud. This book was created to show children of color that they are loved. This includes many different poems that encourage a young reader remember that they are loved no matter their own back round. The author passes down her own thoughts to the next generation. The best part about this book is that one of the pages is mirrors so children reading can see who is being loved, them. This collection of poems was so much fun to read! The bright illustrations were fun and inviting and the poems were well-written. This book would be great to read to students, especially an English class. The figurative language in this makes the poems come alive, and I would love to have this to read to my class! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
