My little cousin and I listened to the audiobook in the car and thoroughly enjoyed it! The author does a good job of describing London, its people, its buildings, its customs, without getting bogged down in so much detail that it loses the interest of an 11-year old. Would recommend to adults too! This book was part of a series known as the 'Tom Marlowe' series, but is a stand alone novel and a great little read. Based in London 1715, it is a medieval 'whodunnit' and was very enjoyable to read. Similarly to P.C. Doherty, Priestley conjurs up the smell and feel of the city during this period which was what attracted me to read this book. good mystery book that sends through a twisted spiral of murder. There is an eary string of murders happening in london. young man Tom Marlo didn't think much about it till his best friend is targeted. trying to find his friends murderor sends Tom through a dangerous story that is older than it seems. London in 1715 was noisome, unhealthy and crowded. A body was found, shot by an arrow, with a death card in the man's pocket. Soon there are more murders in London's alleyways, and more death cards. Tom Marlowe, the young son of a London printer, is determined to find out why his friend Will was one of the murdered. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
