"In the not too distant future… Wars, plagues, and famines ravage the world, immorality and violence are rampant, and the Bible is outlawed. Angelica Smoke, a single mother and cocktail waitress, ascends the steps of a megachurch to deliver a message from God to the one man she hoped to never see again. That message thrusts world-famous pastor Daniel Cain into a whirlwind of confusion, causing him to seek out Angelica and demand an explanation. But the woman broke his heart once and is now involved in a fanatical cult. Even being seen with her could damage his career. Still, he cannot stay away, and the more time he spends with her, the more he begins to doubt everything he believes. Angelica is a seer. God grants her visions of the future, but she has no idea what to do with them. Her top priority is protecting her son—from the world, the culture, the devil, and especially from Daniel. But God keeps throwing them together, causing her fears to rise and reopening old wounds that threaten to tear her soul apart. Angels watch over the couple, protecting and hoping they will make the right choices. But the angels are limited in what they can do as the end of the age comes to a close and the spiritual battles intensify, not only for Angelica and Daniel, but for all humanity" -- Amazon.com.… (plus d'informations)

When Angels Cry is the first book in the Guardians of the Saints series by MaryLu Tyndall. Having read other books by this author I was interested in listening to this audiobook that deals quite dramatically with what life might look like in the not-too-distant future. I was not disappointed. It captured my attention from beginning to end. It is very apparent the author has researched well the end-time prophecies and Biblical teachings regarding the times when Christ will return. I was intrigued by the angel characters and their role in our lives. The story is thought-provoking, fascinating, and a powerful read.
James R Cheatham did a great job giving voice to Angelica and Daniel's story, which made for a pleasurable listening experience. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be reading the rest of the series. Readers who enjoy Christian mystery and suspense romance books will not want to miss When Angels Cry. I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own. ( )

I was honored to be chosen to read and review this book. I am writing this review because I want to. I want to share my thoughts with others who might enjoy this book. I was chosen through bookfun.org

First, let me say that there are a few doctrinal things I do not agree with. In fact, I almost was going to say I could not read this book, but it is so well written it drew me in. I decided to go ahead and read it. I am glad I did. It is stated up front that everyone might not agree and it is only a story of how things might be.

The story is very well written. It has three main characters that are very well developed. The other lesser characters are not as well developed but well enough you can understand them. The story flows well and there are no gaps or lags in the storytelling. The editing was well done though I did find about 5 or 6 errors. Mostly word errors, misspelling or wrong word. Nothing that will hamper your enjoyment of the book.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, but you have to be prepared that you may or may not agree with some of the doctrinal areas. ( )

While this is a different kind of book than I usually read, I found it quite compelling. It is not as hard as it should be to imagine living in a world like is described in this book, and it would not be an enjoyable time. I cannot imagine how hard it would be for Angelica to go against everything she feels is what should do, to do what she feels like God is calling her to do.
I was intrigued as to how she was able to go against her first inclination to be able to talk to Daniel and tell him what had to be told. It is a lesson in listening and doing what you are called to do.

I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including Netgalley. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255. ( )

When Angels Cry by MaryLu Tyndall is simly awesome! Think "Left Behind" series, plus so much more.

"In the not too distant future…
Wars, plagues, and famines ravage the world, immorality and violence are rampant, and the Bible is outlawed."...

Angelica Smoke, aka Angel, a single mother raising her son as best she can, she is acocktail waitress, and a seer. She has a message from God for a world-famous pastor, Daniel Cain, which thrusts him into a whirlwind of confusion and makes him second think everything he believed.

Well written with conflicting views about good vs evil. Well developed characters. The plot is unique, frank and very intense. It gives the reader insight and makes one think on the future of our world. Written from the perspective of angels, as well as humans. The reader is given a vivid glimpse into the invisible spiritual realm and how it affects us all.

"When Angels Cry" is a powerful and emotional tale, which will have the reader crying and laughing at times. The depth in this story was fantastic, while very intense, made me think, as well.
This story is not just a romantic suspense story but it's a story of
sinfulness, the persecution of believers, unrighteousness in today's society, and challenging your way of thinking. The biblical concepts of miraculous healings, the works of the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues, was definitely well written and we'll thought out, in my opinion. Spiritual warfare between angels and demons in a battle to regain our soul and superiority of humanity, which challenges us all is very intense.

Watching Daniel struggle with his choices in life and his behavior, reminds me of some of our daily struggles, very realistic and believeable. Angel has real struggles, challenges and victories. She was a great character.
I was breathless with "When Angels Cry", a definite page turner, and an intensive tale of good vs evil. This story is not your everyday romantic suspense, but a tale that your church library should definitely have in stock.

Ms. Tyndall has written an intensive tale, that is rich, poignant, powerful and compelling. Not your usual Romantic Suspense, but so very much more. While not, what I would call "preachy", but it does reference the aspects of religion and all that entails. A not to miss story! Move over, "Left Behind", here comes "Whend Angels Call". I could easily see this book becoming a movie of the week. A must read. Bravo, MaryLu Tyndall!!
