Even though they are on holiday, Mr. Postmouse is still delivering mail and packages. It is fun to watch the wagon empty as he does his deliveries. They visit all over the world and enjoy their activities they pursue along the way. From riding a camel, taking a dogsled or a hot air balloon, they travel in various ways. They visit all sorts of friends from bear to lizard, monkeys and dragons their homes are wonderful. I loved the cross sections in the volcano and cactus. Their activiites range from swimming, camping, hiking, fishing and more. The illustrations are imaginative and creative. They are so full of detail that they will have kids going back again and again to discover something new. The book encourages visual literacy which allows kids to invoke their own interpretations and storylines. As mentioned in the summary about the book, this could be used in so many ways. Learn about transportation, animal habitats, vacation locations and more. Just so much fun. Every family should have this book in their family library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley. ( ) Translated from French. See also: Your House, My House (same author) The eponymous Mr. Postmouse returns in this follow-up to his initial adventure, Mr. Postmouse's Rounds, taking the entire Mouse family on an extended vacation. Despite traveling through various regions and climates, the Mouses continue the family tradition of delivering letters and parcels, bringing messages and presents to any number of other animals along their route... Originally published in French as Les vacances de facteur souris, this engaging holiday adventure continues the fun of the first book, pairing a fairly simple text with wonderfully intricate illustrations in which the various locales and residences visited by the Mouse family are set out in all their detail. I enjoyed the artwork in Mr. Postmouse Takes a Trip, as I have with all of French-Canadian author/illustrator Marianne Dubuc's other books, and I appreciated the quirky sense of humor on display. This is definitely one that young children will enjoying poring over, perhaps on their own summer vacation, examining all the little details on each page. Recommended to fellow Dubuc fans, to anyone who read and enjoyed the first story about Mr. Postmouse, and to anyone looking for entertaining children's stories about summer travels. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
