At long last, here is the thoroughly revised and updated third edition of the hugely successful The Art of Electronics. It is widely accepted as the best single authoritative book on electronic circuit design, both analog and digital. The art of electronics is explained by stressing the methods actually used by circuit designers--a combination of some basic laws, rules of thumb, and nonmathematical treatment that encourages understanding why and how a circuit works.… (plus d'informations)

I haven't read this, technically; it's a large book I use for reference. But it's very well-written and explains things in an intuitive way that I never really learned in college. Much better than the typical textbook. ( )

In this ever-increasing digital world, this is the only electronics engineering source that should tangibly reside on your shelf. ( )

I took an electronics graduate class to assist me for my degree in physical chemistry. This book is amazing. It coveres all components and types of circuts. It is a pretty intense read, but it is an excellent book for any electronics questions that you may have. I use this book everytime I need to build a circut or reverse engineer one. ( )

When I was studying electronics this was the essential, and most practical, guide to the subject at the time. It was also the only academic textbook that made the transition to work life. When I was designing analogue hardware I would use this as a 'cookbook' for ideas and best practice.

A brilliant book. ( )

Out of my big pile of university textbooks, this is one of the few that was useful for something other than passing exams. In the (far-off) days when I was working in the lab, this was in constant use. A simple, pragmatic account of the things you need to know to get everyday circuits to work, without many frills, aimed at scientists who didn't grow up with a soldering iron in their mouth.

My edition of it is positively ancient, but it still gets looked at occasionally, usually when I'm trying to decipher a 1970s circuit diagram and can't remember which is the integrator and which the differentiator. I've no idea how up-to-date and useful more recent editions would be. ( )
