Great story about a poor, happy shoemaker that would sing while he worked. Meanwhile, a rich man across the way was miserable and hated his singing. He tried to convince the shoe maker to stop singing and bribed him with a a chest laced in jewels filled with gold. This got the poor shoemaker's attention and he stopped singing. The shoemaker is so worried about the safety of this valuable chest that it drives him mad and he becomes very sad. The shoemakers wife tells him to gie back the chest, it brought nothing but darkness and grief to the mans life. So the shoe maker gave back the chest to the rich man. The moral of the story is that money doesn't buy happiness and you are the creator of your own happiness. Classic fable, retold and illustrated beautifully. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
