Having lost his wife, math teacher Kouhei Inuzuka is doing his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi as a single father. He's pretty bad at cooking and doesn't have a huge appetite to begin with, but chance brings his little family and one of his students, Kotori Iida, together for homemade adventures. A fluffy slice of life about a cute daddy-daughter duo cooking food with the help of a friendly student. As everyone else has said, nothing of consequence really happens, and at least for me the characters weren't engaging enough to keep me invested. Probably won't read more.
I also am not into the art style, which often hit me as more pornographic than cutesy. There's just a lot of drooling and blushing, which in theory might make sense for a sweet food-based manga, but often came off as 2/3 of the way to ahegao. ( )

I was hoping this was going to be similar Yotsuba&! as a single father and his daughter bond while learning to cook. While it is slice of life and has some warm and fuzzy daddy/daughter moments, this actually seems to be another of those yucky teacher/student romances that seem so common in manga. The widowed teacher is learning to cook for his daughter with a girl he randomly meets in a park but who turns out to be in his high school classroom. The teenage girl is lonely and has an absent mother who doesn't seem to know or care about the time her daughter is spending in this older man's home.

It's very slow and will probably get creepier as it progresses, but I have a couple more volumes on hand from the library, so I'll see how it goes. ( )

Great slice of life story about a father, daughter, and high school student who all come together to learn how to cook and feel like a family. ( )

A heartwarming story of a single dad and his daughter. After his wife died, he has to take care of their daughter by himself. But he can't cook and he doesn't want to rely on prepackaged food. Then they meet a girl at the park and one thing led to another; she is teaching him how to cook (though she's still learning herself). Surprise! He is her math teacher!

Overall, the story is sweet and charming. There are recipes listed at the end of each chapter for the reader to try. The only concern I have is the potential teacher-student romance. Not a fan. But so far, everything seems safe. ( )
