After high school senior Ellen Foster, who has cerebral palsy, heals from an accident where both of her legs were broken. She is scheduled to go to a photography workshop at a university which is an opportunity to move past her broken heart from breaking up with her high school boyfriend. There she meets a potential new boyfriend, Harrison Shaw. After thinking she is finally moving forward, she suddenly sees her old boyfriend, Cam Campbell, who asks Ellen if they could just be friends. Ellen wonders if that is even possible.
