This book has great pictures and fun experiments to do with your students. I really like that this book isn’t just experiment after experiment, but each has a lesson before it, then the science experiment, and a follow up portion of the lesson. I was especially fond of the “States of Matter” chapter in which you get to make ice cream. ( )

This book in the Science Activities series is on Weather and Climate. This book covers the water cycle, hygrometers, clouds, snow, ice, hail, rain, storms, rainbows, wind speed and direction, and air pressure. Each section gives information on each topic, and then it follows up with a kid-friendly activity. This book could definitely aid teachers in planning science lessons with fun activities. None of the materials needed are expensive or hard to find. Parents could even do some of these activities with their kids at home. ( )

This particular book in the Science Activities series covers electricity and magnetism. The areas the book covers are batteries, voltaic piles, static electricity, leyden jars, circuits, Curie Point, motor effect, magnetic fields, electromagnets, and eddy currents. The book gives information on each topic, and then it gives an activity that children could do to explore each topic. These would be cool science activities for teachers to do in the classroom if the teacher had the right materials. The only things I saw in the activities that could be a little pricey were the ammeter and the voltmeter. However, if you were to talk to a physics teacher, you could probably get ahold of at least one of each. ( )
