Thanks to Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley for the ARC amazon.kindle edition of [title: When All The Girls Have Gone] by [a: Jayne Ann Krentz|2387|Jayne Ann Krentz|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1446933865p2/2387.jpg]. This is my honest review.

As an avid reader, it is rare to find a book that throws curves, while remaining true to the plot and the point of view of the narrative protagonist.

The main protagonist was unlikely, plain, perhaps boring in her life before this mystery shakes her life plans. Charlotte Sawyer awakens to her strength, and does what needs to be done. She may be afraid, but her bravery win her more than she could have imagined.

Charlotte, recently dumped by her fiance, loses her investments in failed wedding plans. She meets Max a detective while trying to locate her missing step-sister. Overnight Ms. Sawyer's life changes.

Entertaining read. This is in the ballpark of a cozy mystery. Meaningful subplots running through the story keep the reader guessing.

I will recommend it for our library. ( )

An enjoyable read, but for some reason I had trouble staying focused. I think the characters just didn't grab me so I was kind of "ho hum -- what next?"

One of my favorite authors, but this wasn't one of my favorite books. ( )

The cool thing is how I got to read this book. I've been a fan for a long time but found it in a stack of books my dad got from the library. He likes James Patterson, John Grisham, those types of writers. He picked it up because the book sounded interesting. So it's very cool that JAK's recent shift in the last couple of years towards more straight up suspense has created a situation where I can share one of my favourite authors with my dad. I went through the book in a day, he's barely started.

I do miss JAK's humour and tighter focus on the romantic relationship in this book but it's a well-written suspense story that I think my dad is going to enjoy. I dearly miss Arcane but I don't fault JAK for wanting to go in a more mature direction and that's how this story feels. It reminds me of the Henrie O series Carolyn Hart started writing once she got tapped out on the Death on Demand series.

I can always re-read Second Sight or Wildest Hearts for a full on JAK fix. ( )

When Charlotte Sawyer's step-sister, Jocelyn, vanishes, Charlotte joins forces with Max Cutler, a struggling PI who recently moved to Seattle after his previous career as a criminal profiler went down in flames. After surviving a near-fatal attack, Charlotte and Max turn to Jocelyn's closest friends, women in a Seattle-based online investment club, for answers. But what they find is chilling. When her uneasy alliance with Max turns into a full-blown affair, Charlotte has no choice but to trust him with her life. For the shadows of Jocelyn's past are threatening to consume her-and anyone else who gets in their way. ( )

3-3.5 Stars
When Charlotte Sawyer picks up her step-sister Jocelyn's mail she finds a package from Jocelyn’s best friend Louise. In trying to contact Louise she finds out she's dead. Charlotte may not know her step-sisters friends all that well but she knows there is no way Louise could have OD’d.
When she goes to Louise’s apartment to pick up some papers for Jocelyn she meets Max Cutler, the private investigator hired to look into Jocelyn’s death. After Charlotte discovers her step-sister isn’t where she said she’d be - a month long tech free retreat - she teams up with Max to find her worried that whoever killed Louise may be after Jocelyn next.

When All The Girls Have Gone was an enjoyable read but while I enjoyed the romance between Max and Charlotte, I found the mystery/suspense a bit lacking. It wasn't hard to figure out who the killer was, it was more of finding out the why but the more I read the easier it was to piece together. There were a few surprises thrown in though to complicate matters - which I liked.

All in all, I'd say read this if you're in the mood for a cozy mystery!
