Rho, the courageous visionary from House Cancer, lost nearly everything when she exposed and fought against the Marad, a mysterious terrorist group bent on destroying balance in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now the Marad has disappeared without a trace, and an uneasy peace has been declared. But Rho is suspicious. She believes the Master is still out there in some other form. And looming over all are the eerie visions of her mother, who died many years ago but is now appearing to Rho in the stars. When news of a stylish new political party supported by her best friend, Nishi, sends Rho on another journey across the Galaxy, she uses it as an opportunity to hunt the hidden master and seek out information about her mother. And what she uncovers sheds light on the truth--but casts darkness upon the entire Zodiac world. Book 3 in the breathtaking sci-fi space saga inspired by astrology that will stun fans of the Illuminae Files and Starbound series.… (plus d'informations)

I liked the flow of the novel . . . The Zodiac guardians believed peace was finally achieved, but . . . Rho and her friends know the Master is still out there.

There are a lot of themes in this arc than in the previous two novels. Even though Rho was a bit irritating in the first two books - I finally connected to her as a character.

All of them are broken - and none of them . . . was the same after what had happened. Rho lets Mathias down as she realises what she felt was nothing but a memory. Mathias still jumps if she snaps her fingers (yes, he shouldn't), which showcases the deep bond of friendship he and Rho share.

Hysan - on-the-other hand - brings out another part of her that she fears. He changed the norm and made her see; how things could/should be different. He is still a mysterious character with his flaws and the secrets he has to keep.

Rho's best friend Nishi gets taken after she discovers a political party wasn't as it seems. (Of course, they fought about it) Nishi was dealing with grief in a way that wasn't healthy.

The Master gets unmasked and throws her whole orbit into chaos. Stan dies - and Rho's mind just seized functioning, and everything that has happened becomes too much for her to handle. Something inside her just broke - switching off all logic and emotions.

Overall, I enjoyed the addition to the Zodiac series. ( )

This book again, like the first 3, couldn't put it down. The worlds are laid out so well and the character development is so great. I will be starting the last one soon. I have high hopes! ( )

Once again, I enjoyed getting to explore more of the Zodiac worlds through the eyes of the characters, which were my favorite parts. The worlds are so interesting, but I wish we could see more of them.

The characters themselves were ok, nothing too special. Rho is less annoying, which was a definite bonus, though she across as a little preachy.

The story was good, but it suffered from "middle book slump" because there seemed to be a lot less happening and a lot more talking along with lovey stuff. That being said, the ending was interesting. I really did not see that twist coming. ( )
