The illustrative style reminds me of Christian Robinson's style. I liike it. The story is also thoughfully and tenderly written, with humor sprinkled in. ( )

This is a cute book about a girl who had a best friend named Simone until he moved away. She also had a parrot that she wore on her head as well. After her friend left she played by herself with her parrot until she was ready to go outside. When she went outside she had the idea of putting everything that she had and new about in different boxes. Then one day when she was looking for a really big box she found a friend. That friend was a boy named Chester, then after he came up with a good idea they became friends and played together every day after that.

Isabel, a girl with a parrot on her head, deals with grief when her friend Simon moves away. She gets a new neighbor, though, and Isabel discovers that she's ready for a new friend.
