Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Justice Lonesome has enjoyed a life of bounty.

Even so, she's inherited the curse of the Lonesome. A poet's soul. Which means she's still searching for something. Searching for peace. Searching for the less...that's more.

And when the foundation of her life is pulled out from under her, grieving, she goes to the mountains to find her oasis. She hits Carnal, Colorado and decides to stay.

Deke Hightower lost everything at the age of two. He lost it again at fifteen. His life has not been about bounty. It's been about learning to live with less, because there's no way to get more.

Deke's also watched all his friends go down to the women who gave them what they needed. He wants that for himself. But he knows that search isn't going to be easy because he's a rider. His home is the road. That's the only place he can breathe. And the woman who takes her place at his side has to do it sitting on the back of his bike.

When Deke meets Justice, he knows she's not that woman. She's cute. She's sweet. And she's into him, but she's got it all and Deke knows he won't fit into that. So he holds her at arm's length. Establishes boundaries. And Justice will take it because she wants Deke any way he'll let her have him.

But when Justice finds herself a pawn in a dangerous game, Deke makes a decision.

When he does, he has no idea he's just opened himself up to bounty.

I liked Deke and Justice. They had a sweet, uncomplicated by contrived drama relationship. Once they decided on each other, that was it. They were in it for the long haul. That was refreshing after the previous 6 books. ( )

2 stars.

Worst KA book I have ever read. Don't know what the heck happened here. It was over and beyond repetitive. I even got over the sex scenes. ME!
About 50 pages of good story that is repeated over and over and OVER throughout the book.
AND! Blow my mind, numerous editing errors.
Are we SURE Kristen Ashley wrote this?
Was she just tired of the series and couldn't think of what to write?

So glad I have read a TON of her other books. Otherwise.... Well, if I had to go by this book, I would never read another of hers. If fact, I would have dnf'ed this about 50% through. It was that bad.

Pure bountiful love

This book and the first one were the best of the series. This one had all the feelings and introspection that I have come to love in this from this author. I not only fell in love with the characters but the message of the story.

There is supposed to be another book in this series about Wood and Maggie but I don't see it yet. I'll be ever watchful. ( )

She's done it again.....given me another mountain man hero finding his soul mate.

Justice and Deke. Like KA posted to her FB page....I too will never be able to hear The GooGoo Dolls "Come to Me" and not want to weep.

Justice is the third generation in a musical legacy. She's grown tired of having "it all" and wants a "more is less" life. More simplicity, more love, more feeling stable. Deke is a rambling man. On the road during the warm months, in his trailer by a Colorado lake during the winter. Neither one has had roots in one place for different reasons and understands the call of the road each carries.

Of course their story can not be without drama and heartbreak. Oh and them meeting in a biker bar in Wyoming, him standing her up for the date the next day, her walking into a remote biker bar in the Colorado mountains 7 years later....and there he is, and he doesn't recognize her. Oh yea, from the word go their story pulls you in and they way they come together you just know they are meant to be.

I'm not going to get into plot details or spoilers this is another story you just have to read and enjoy. All our favorites from the series are here and it feels good to be back in their company.

Now if I could just get my greedy little hands on Wood and Maggie's story. ( )

Justice and Deke, what a story.
It starts with a prologue and its from Justice POV and it made me sad for her, its the skill of Kristen A. to make you feel so much for her characters and i wanted Deke so much for Justice just in that first prologue.
Justice is wealthly and Deke doesn't have much materially, he works to build up some money then rides and feels free on the road. Justice travels but it has made her feel empty, unfulfilled.

I don't want to explain too much about how Justice is rich as it will spoil the plot, Kristen A. reveals this and her complicated family life in layers, you find small pieces of information out and think you understand then more is revealed and you realize you didn't.

The setting from chapter one is Carnel so we have loads from all the old favorites, Kris appears quite alot which is great cos i know some fans have felt she needed her own book but her story was already told alongside Tate and Laurie's in Sweet Dreams, book one so its great to see how her life is progressing and get to know her better. The scenes with Twyla are hilarious, and we catch up with Wood, Ty, Chase and their better halves.

The book is an emotional read, it had me reaching for the tissue box on more than one occasion and i would recommend listening to the songs when they appear in the book as you read, the lyrics express so much.

Several chapters have alternative POV, i loved the way this was done, in some chapters it would be all Justice then change POV to Deke for maybe a paragraph or even a sentence right at the end, very clever. We get a POV from Tate and Wood and 'The Heart'(?) didn't quite get that one.

Loved it, Wood and Maggie's book next and that will be the end of this series. ( )
