Actress Cassidy "C.J." Hayes is famous for her role inThe Alchemidens, a fantasy show where she plays a kick-ass heroine. Her rising success has brought her quickly under Hollywood's glaring spotlight. It also gained her the unwelcome attentions of an obsessive fan who wants more than just an autograph. Aiden Darrow is both a well-respected screenwriter and a writer of lesbian romances. As a big fan of actress C.J. Hayes, Aiden is astounded when the woman of her dreams ends up moving into the house next door to her. Their attraction is undeniable, but Cassidy is understandably nervous about getting too close to anyone. Aiden, meanwhile, is trying to separate reality from fiction because Cassidy is nothing like the character she portrays so well. All through her childhood, Aiden dreamed of a hero to come rescue her, but can she be the hero that Cassidy so desperately needs now?… (plus d'informations)

Okay, so I didn't cry -- but other than t hat fact this book was awesome (if you read/or have read the book you'll get that. Heh.)

It's about Cassidy (sometimes known as CJ in the narrative) and Aiden. Cassidy is an actress in a steampunk/fantasy show. she's also a lesbian and is being stalked by a guy who believes very strongly that they are girlfriend and boyfriend.

Aiden is a writer who lives next door to the house that Cassidy moves into. She writes both screenplays and lesbian fantasy novels as well. And her youth was definitely not an easy one.

They meet when Cassidy moves into the house next door, and they quickly fall into each others orbits in the novel, partially because Cassidy loves Aiden's cooking and because Aiden is a very big fan of Cassidy's on her TV Show.

The novel's romance plot wasn't super surprising, but I liked that there was a bit of a thriller part to the book too.

Still, my favorite part of the novel were the characters. Not just Cassidy and Aiden (although I liked there characters a lot too), but the secondary characters like Mischa, Trudy, Joe, and even Mischa and Joe's super cute kids.

It was an awesome book and a very, very enjoyable read for sure!

I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books. ( )

I was given this book by Netgalley for an honest review. I gave it a 3 1/2 stars.
Starstruck is the story of Cassidy Hayes, star of a fantasy TV show. She is being stalked by an obsessive fan, so she hides out at the house of a friend. Aiden Darrow, author and fan of Cassidy's TV persona, lives next door and they struck up an acquaintance. This new friendship quickly turns to love. Once Aiden finds out about the stalker, she is determined to protect Cassidy at all costs.
The plot here is fairly predictable, but what makes Starstruck a good story is the characters. Aiden is interesting with a complicated background. Cassidy is slightly more bland but believable as a down-to-earth TV star. Her best friend and co-star Mischa is a delight.
It's a fast read. I did think they fell into bed a little too quickly to be believable that they were so madly in love, but it was fine for a light read. ( )
